Liverpool vs Chelsea was another classic as the match finished level at 2-2 just before the final whistle. Although the match was entertaining it will definitely be remembered for Luis Suarez bite at Branislav Ivanović. This is not the first time that Luis Suarez bit an opponent as back in 2010 when he played for Ajax he bit a PSV player, Otman Bakkal. It has to be seen if the FA will suspend the Liverpool striker as the referee didn’t take any action.
The match immediately started at high levels with some great football being played. Chelsea opened the score in the 26th minute thanks to a header from Brazilian Oscar. The half ended 1-0 for Chelsea although Suarez threatened Chelsea’s goal a couple of times. In the second half Brendan Rodgers decided to introduce Sturridge who played a great second half. In the 52nd minute Sturridge scored the equalizer that only lasted 5 minutes as Luis Suarez touched the ball with his hands in the box with Chelsea being rewarded with a penalty. Eden Hazard scored from the penalty spot to restore the one goal lead for Chelsea. Midway through the second half an episode between Suarez and Ivanovic resulted with Suarez biting Ivanovic’s arm. The match went on with Chelsea trying to hold on to an important lead only for Suarez to equalize for Liverpool in the dying seconds as he surprised Petr Cech with a close range header.
