It seems that Arsenal have another difficult task in retaining a key player as Theo Walcott rejected the contract offered by the gunners. This summer the spotlight was on ex-Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie as Arsenal had to sell him not to lose him for free next summer but everyone forgot that Theo Walcott’s contract expires next summer too. Arsenal thought that Walcott would accept their contract renewal but that didn’t happen. Arsenal offered Walcott a weekly salary of 75,000 sterling. Many clubs have been reported to be interested in the England winger with Manchester City and Arsenal topping the list. Foreign clubs are also interested in Walcott with Juventus being very keen in signing Walcott.
Although Walcott refused Arsenal’s contract offer it seems that Arsenal won’t be offloading him in this transfer window. This means that in the next few months Arsenal will try to reach an agreement with Walcott. Should they not manage to agree a deal they will either have to sell him in January or accept losing him for free next summer.
