Transfer News — 29 August 2012

With the transfer window shutting on Friday, I will give a round-up of the latest big-money moves in the transfer market over the next fee days.

The main activity today seems to revolve around Fulham.

The Cottagers have accepted a £15million bid from Premier League rivals Tottenham for attacking midfielder Moussa Dembele. The Belgian international is currently having a medical ahead of the switch.

A player that could be heading into Craven Cottage is versatile Sunderland ace Kieran Richardson. Fulham have agreed a fee with the Wearsiders and the 27 year-old is expected to head to London for a medical and to discuss personal terms. Richardson can play at left-back or on the left-side of midfield.

Fulham are also believed to be interested in signing midfielder Mark Noble from London rivals West Ham. The 25 year-old played a key role in the Irons promotion to the Premier League last season and would be a big loss to Sam Allardyce’s team.

Another London club QPR are on the verge of signing Inter and Brazil keeper Julio Cesar. The 32 year-old is close to completing his move to the Premier League after agreeing personal terms on a free move to Loftus Road.

Elsewhere, England and Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is a target for Liverpool and Manchester City. The former-Southampton star is expected to leave the Emirates in the next few days after he rejected a contract offer from the Gunners.

He has less than a year left to run on his contract and the Gunners will demand a fee in the region of £12million for the England international.

Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing is attracting the attention of a host of clubs. The 23 year-old has been frozen out at Anfield and could move before the transfer window closes. The likes of Bolton, QPR, Wolves and Aston Villa are all believed to be interested in the £1million rated midfielder.

Which of today’s transfer stories excite you most?
