Jose Mourinho could be set for a return to Chelsea this summerReal Madrid boss Jose Mourinho will leave at the end of the season.

There has been heavy speculation that the Portuguese boss would leave for a few months and it was finally confirmed last night.

Mourinho will leave by mutual consent, which means no compensation for the self-proclaimed ‘special one’.

Not so special

This season has definitely not been special for Mourinho and his team. Los Blancos lost out to arch-rivals Barcelona in the race for the Spanish title, lost to Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals and also lost the Copa Del Rey final to bitter-rivals Atletico Madrid.

In fact, Mourinho himself has described this season as his worst ever in football. His exit from Madrid really has not come as a surprise, as he has been linked with a summer return to Chelsea for much of the season.

Return?

The Portuguese boss leaving the Spanish capital now looks the most likely indication that Mourinho will be returning to Chelsea this summer. This news will delight the majority of Blues fans, who believe that the Portuguese can bring the club success once again.

Rift

One of the obstacles between Chelsea and success under Jose Mourinho could be owner Roman Abramovich. The pair has a poor relationship from Mourinho’s first spell at Stamford Bridge. Whether those two can patch their relationship up is unknown.

Spending

All indications coming out of Chelsea suggest that the Blues will spend big this summer. The new Chelsea boss will be given a major transfer kitty and will be expected to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Backward

A move for Jose Mourinho looks like a backward step for Chelsea right now. They have a good squad of players and look like they are just a few players away from being a top team. Is the controversy that Jose Mourinho brings to a football club really what the Blues need right now? I am not so sure.

Is Jose Mourinho the right man for Chelsea?
