Italy Serie A — 26 February 2013

Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan coach, from the Torneo di Viareggio (Youth squad tournament) explained the new goals for his team to achieve by the end of this season and formally declares that he wants to reach the second place, currently occupied by Napoli. This place permits AC Milan to be directly admitted to the group Allegriphase of the UEFA Champions League 2013-1014. However, this aim is noticeably difficult: AC Milan has 7 points less than Napoli even if Mazzarri’s team is losing points in the last matches. Mr Allegri insisted on the primary need to win the direct matches: AC Milan must have the equilibrium and the force to play in the best way possible to reach the victory.

Mr Allegri also commented on the result of the derby drawn against Inter Milan last Sunday. AC Milan, he said, has dominated the match in the first half, but it has played with less concentration in the second half permitting Inter to score. The result, 1-1 with the goals of El Sharaawy and Schelotto,  continued the coach, must be accepted even if Milan should have managed the advantage and the time in a better way.

Decisive for the future of the team is the match AC Milan-Lazio that is planned for Saturday, 2 March. In fact Lazio, 47 points after the won against Pescara this Monday, is the other team that may obstacle AC Milan (45 points) in fulfilling Allegri’s aims in Serie A.
