Italy Serie A — 26 November 2012

Inter Milan loseToday was an important day for Italian football as title challengers Napoli and Inter Milan had a good chance to close down the gap from leaders Juventus as they lost in yesterday’s match against AC Milan.

In the first match, Napoli made the most of today’s game as they won 1-0 against a solid Cagliari side. Cagliari may consider themselves to be unlucky as they weren’t inferior to Napoli and only a fortunate chance netted by Hamsik in the 73rd minute allowed Napoli to grab all three points. The match ended in controversy as Cagliari earned a corner in the dying seconds of the match but the referee whistled the end.

In the other match Inter Milan disappointed as they lost 1-0 against an attacking Parma side. Inter Milan needed to win today to close the gap from Juventus to only one point instead for the second time in a row they didn’t manage to do so. In today’s match Inter Milan never showed that they could win the match as the best chances were always created by Parma and it was only thanks to an in form Samir Handanovic that they didn’t concede more goals. The Parma goal was scored by Nicola Sansone thanks to a great personal effort as he ran from Parma’s half to Inter Milan’s box before unleashing a precise and powerful shot in the low corner leaving no chance for Handanovic to save. Inter Milan will have to improve their performances if they want to mount a serious challenge for the title.
