This afternoon six Serie A matches were played. The match that was attracting most interest was Inter Milan vs Cagliari as the Milan based side had a good chance to close the gap from current leaders Juventus. Inter Milan didn’t manage to take advantage of Juventus slip yesterday as they could only manage a draw against Cagliari. Inter Milan took the lead early in the game thanks to a header by Palacio. Cagliari manage to equalize right before halftime. In the second half Cagliari took the lead thanks to a second goal by Marco Sau. Towards the end of the match with eight minutes left Inter Milan managed to level the match thanks to an auto goal by Cagliari defender Daniele Astori.
In another match Fiorentina won convincingly against a good Atalanta side. With this win Fiorentina climb the table to third place as they’re on level points with Napoli but with a better goal average. Critics agree that Fiorentina is the surprise side this season and can definitely challenge for a Champions League spot. In the other matches Bologna won 3-0 against Sicilian side Palermo. In Sicily Catania won 2-1 against Chievo whilst Udinese drew 2-2 against Parma. Lastly Siena won 1-0 against Pescara with the match leading to the resignation of Pescara coach, Giovanni Stroppa. Stroppa resigned as he felt that he couldn’t do much more with the current side.
