Sampdoria Juventus Serie AThe first day of the Serie A offered a first surprise as AC Milan lost 2-1 against Verona. The rossoneri took the lead in the 14th minute as Andrea Poli finalized a nice action. Verona managed to level and win the match thanks to two goals by Luca Toni, one in each half. On the other hand Juventus met expectations as they won 1-0 against Sampdoria. The scoreline was a narrow one but the performance was a good one. Tevez scored the sole goal for Juventus as he finalized a beautiful coral team action. Inter Milan managed to win a difficult match against a resilient Genoa side that did not take their chances. Inter Milan opened the score in the 75th minute with a Nagatomo header and doubled the lead in the 90th minute through Palacio.

Cagliari and Lazio both managed 2-1 wins against Atalanta and Udinese respectively. Cagliari had to fight back to win the match as Atalanta took the lead in the 27th minute with Stendardo. Only a minute later Cagliari leveled the match with Nainggolan. Cabrera scored the winner for Cagliari in the 64th minute. Lazio took a two goal lead thanks to a Hernanes goal and a Candreva penalty. Udinese pulled one back through Muriel but they didn’t manage to level the match. Roma won 2-0 against Livorno as they managed two goals within three minutes in the second half by De Rossi and Florenzi. Palermo and Chievo finished 0-0 with both sides not managing to find the back of the net. Torino won 2-0 against newly promoted side Sassuolo as they scored a goal in each half. Lastly Napoli won comfortably against Bologna 3-0. Napoli took the lead thanks to a Callejon tap in and two goals by their captain, Marek Hamsik.
