Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger, shared his view about Dutch striker Robin Van Persie on Arsenal’s official website. He said that Van Persie surprised him, not for the quality of his play as he expects a lot from him, but purely from a technical point of view. He also added that the number of goals he scored this season was incredibly surprising. He ended by stating that Van Persie didn’t only do well on the pitch but also off the pitch.
Robin Van Persie kick started his career at Dutch side Excelsior before moving on to Dutch giants Feyenoord. He spent three years at Feyenoord from 2001 to 2004. In 2004 he joined Arsenal and proved to be a very important player for the Gunners although he missed out on many matches due to injury problems. This season has been his best season ever at Arsenal. He also represents the Netherlands at international level. He played 62 games and scored 25 goals for the national side.
