The early kick–off in the Premier League this weekend is at Loftus Road, where bottom of the table QPR host Norwich.
Neither side have been in the best of form in recent weeks, but both gained credible points in the midweek fixtures.
QPR ground out a 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Tuesday night, while Norwich held fourth-place Tottenham to a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road on Wednesday night.
Both teams are likely to have new faces in their line-ups after signing players on transfer deadline day.
The home side brought in Christopher Samba, Jermaine Jenas and Andros Townsend on Thursday night and all three could feature in this clash. Norwich brought in striker Luciano Becchio from Leeds and the Argentinian could be given his first appearance at Loftus Road.
Elsewhere, Chelsea threw away a two goal lead in a 2-2 draw at Reading on Wednesday night. The Blues face a trip to Newcastle, who gained a valuable 2-1 win at fellow strugglers Aston Villa on Tuesday night. New signing Moussa Sissoko was outstanding in the centre of the park for the visitors.
The Magpies performed far better than they have done in recent weeks at Villa and that win could signal the start of a revival to their season. Chelsea need to rediscover their best form, with Tottenham now just four points behind them in the Premier League table.
Chelsea’s away form has been better than their home form under Rafa Benitez and the Spaniard will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the north east.
Manchester United will be looking to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League to ten points, as the league leaders visit Fulham’s Craven Cottage in the late-kick. The home side picked up a morale boosting 3-1 win over Fulham in their last game, but have a poor recent record against the visitors both home and away.
