Barcelona is working to reinforce the team, not only in the attack phase. In addition to the arrival of Neymar and the probable arrival of another striker, Barcelona wants at least a new defender. During last season indeed, Barcelona has shown his problems in the defense: example is the poor figure made against Bayern Munich in the semifinals of Champions League.

Piquè remains the basic element for the future defense, but another player needs to be added to this sector. Tito Villanova has asked Thiago Silva as defender, but considered his cost and the projects of PSG, this operation results impossible. For this reason, the managers of Barcelona have found some alternatives: Rami and Matheu (Valencia) and Marquinhos (Roma).

Marquinhos represents an interesting investment for Barcelona due to his young age and his recent performances. The biggest problem is linked to the requests of Roma: 30 million euros, an amount that Barcelona seems not intentioned to pay. This high cost established by Roma is confirmed by the president of Napoli, that in the previous weeks made an offering to Roma to get both Lamela and Marquinhos. 40 million euros have been proposed to Roma, that refused them, because his players are evaluated more. Marquinhos is desired also by PSG that is waiting before making an offering, while Real Madrid has recently proposed 26 million euros to get the Brazilian talent.

Marquinhos is now one of the most requested defender and the clubs interested in him are excellent and able to pay an high amount. However, Roma has to think about the possibility of refusing million euros to maintain a player that could be one of the basic element of the team in the following seasons.
