Last week’s encounter between Everton and Juventus wasn’t only an occasion to face each other on the pitch. It was also an opportunity to discuss transfer targets, with Everton manager Roberto Martinez being very keen on signing Luca Marrone. Luca Marrone is a product of the Juventus youth sector and has been a useful squad member in the last two seasons therefore the bianconeri are reluctant to selling him. That said, Juventus need the cash to strengthen other areas of the pitch. It is being reported that Everton are ready to pay 8 million euros for the Italy U-21 international.
Luca Marrone started his footballing career at Juventusas he joined the youth sector at the young age of 8. In 2010 Juventus sent him on a season long loan deal at Siena to get more playing time. At Siena, Marrone found it difficult at first to get playing time until he convinced then Siena coach, Antonio Conte, that he was worthy of a place in the starting eleven. The following season Juventus hired Antonio Conte as their coach and Luca Marrone earned the opportunity to stay in the squad thanks to the performances he displayed the previous season. Since then Luca Marrone has become a useful squad player for Juventus. Marrone has also represented Italy at various youth levels, U-17, U-19 and U-21.
Would it be a right move for Juventus to sell Marrone?
