Scott Parker has joined Fulham from other London based side, Tottenham. Fulham confirmed that Parker signed a three year contract with them. The 32 year old England international has joined Fulham for an undisclosed fee. In recent weeks Parker was being linked to QPR but Parker decided to join Fulham as it is an established Premier League club. Playing regular football at a Premier League club was essential for Parker as he wants to earn a place in next summer’s World Cup squad. With this signing Fulham have made their ambitions clear as in Parker they’ve signed an England international that is still at his peak. Many may debate that at 32 years, soon turning 33, Parker may not be the best signing for Fulham as he will be joining an ageing squad but Parker’s quality will definitely lead him to be a great signing for Fulham.
Parker spent most of his professional career at London based clubs. He started his career at Charlton Athletic where he established himself as a key player and also managed to represent England at international level for the first time. In 2004 he made a big career move as he joined Chelsea. At Chelsea he spent only one season as he didn’t get much playing time. He left Chelsea to join Chelsea were he spent two seasons before moving back to London to firstly join West Ham for four seasons and then Tottenham for another seasons.
