Giorgos Karagounis is attracting the interest of English side Fulham. Although the transfer window has closed Karagounis may still join a club as he is unattached. His contract with Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos expired last summer and since then he’s been available on a free. Fulham are considering the Greek international to bolster their midfield. As shown in this summer’s Euros although Karagounis is 35 years old he can still add quality and dynamism to any side.
Giorgos Karagounis started his professional career at Greek side Apollon Smyrni before joining Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos in 1998. After five successful seasons at Panathinaikos he moved to Italy at Inter Milan to take his career to the next level. At Inter Milan he didn’t enjoy much success and after only two seasons he moved to Portuguese side Benfica. At Benfica he spent two seasons with the second one being successful from a personal point of view. In 2007 he moved back to Panathinaikos and enjoyed another successful spell at the Greek side. Karagounis is a Greece international having represented his country 120 times and scored 9 goals.
