Francesco Totti is the second best scorer of all times in Serie A. Thanks to the penalty realized on Sunday during the match Roma-Genoa, the captain, as he is called by Roma’s supporters, has reached Gunnar Nordahal, author of 225 goals in Serie A. Better than Totti and the Swedish striker there is only Silvio Piola, 274 goals in his football career. Francesco Totti is celebrating in March the 20th anniversary of his presence in Roma. After the match he said: ” It has been a touching instant, but I was looking forward to score this important goal. I’m very happy because I have reached this aim in my stadium and in my city.”
During an interview released to Sky sport he added that the Italian league is not finished yet and there are still 11 matches during which Roma could fight for a place in Europe .
Totti’s team has won the match against Genoa 3-1. His goal is the first one, followed by the goals of the young Romagnoli and Perrotta. Scorer for Genoa is Borriello.
Now his aim is to reach Silvio Piola, even if it is quite impossible for this year. But it could be the objective for the future, the last to satisfy before concluding his career as football player.
