After the victory 2-0 against Roma, also during this round, Palermo has repeated the experience, defeating Sampdoria 1-3. Palermo seems a new team, that is passing through a positive moment, giving itself the possibility to remain in Serie A. Only two rounds ago, Palermo was for sure relegated in the second division, but with 6 points more there is still the hope to a future in Serie A.
Today’s match was fundamental for Palermo, and less important for Sampdoria, that has enough points to has a guaranteed future in Serie A. However, both the teams played at their best. The first half has been characterized by equilibrium as visible in the 1-1. Von Bergen scored the first goal, thanks to a perfect assist of Miccoli at 35′. Just 5 minutes later, Sampdoria gained the draw, due to Munari’s goal. A first half without particular events, except for the yellow card assigned to Barreto.
The second half has shown an excellent Ilicic, author of a goal and of a good performance, helpful also for the development of the third goal, scored by Garcia. The two goals of the seconf half arrived within the first ten minutes; after this result Sannino made several substitutions, to give a more defensive style to his team. The aim has been perfectly reached, because Sampdoria tried to build numerous occasions, meeting a strong defense that denied the possibility of at least a draw.
The match finished with an unimaginable result, that let Palermo dream a brilliant future, compared to the situation of two weeks ago.
