Russian side Rubin Kazan signed Malaga and Venezuela striker Salomon Rondon. Transfer speculation was rife for the 23 year old as he was expected to leave Malaga following diminished ambitions of the Spanish side. He signed a 4 year contract with Rubin Kazan whilst it has been reported that Malaga will earn around 10 million euros from the deal.
Rondon’s full name is Jose Salomon Rondon Gimenez. He started his professional career at Venezuela side Aragua before moving to Spain in 2008 to join Las Palmas. Following a successful second season at Las Palmas he was signed by Malaga for a record transfer fee of 3.5 million euros. Despite facing fierce competition for a first team place he still managed to play several games and score a significant number of goals. He also represented Venezuela at international level 24 times and scored 8 goals.
