Alvaro NegredoAccording to Sky Sports, Manchester City are close to sealing the £20million signing of Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.

The Spaniard only needs to complete his medical and he will become a City player. It is unknown whether this deal will end City’s interest in Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic.

Meanwhile, City full-back Maicon has completed a move to Serie A side Roma for an undisclosed fee. The Brazilian full-back made just 11 appearances for City after moving to Eastlands last summer.

Former-Chelsea winger Florent Malouda is set to move to Turkish club Trabzonspor on a free transfer, after being released by the Blues when his contract expired. Malouda had been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and forced to train with the youngsters.

The Daily Mirror claims that Papiss Cisse will leave Newcastle because of the on-going row over the clubs shirt sponsor. The Senegal international has objected to wearing the shirt, as he does not believe what the company is offering is right.

The striker pulled out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour to Portugal. His actions have led to speculation regarding his future in the north east.

The same paper is reporting that Manchester United are set to offer £60million for Tottenham star Gareth Bale. The Welshman has been linked with a move to a number of clubs this summer, including Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Bale has never expressed a desire to leave Spurs, but the opportunity of playing in the Champions League could persuade him to make a move elsewhere.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has ambitious plans to pair Gary Hooper with Charlie Austin up front next season. The Hoops are set to make a swoop for £2.5million-rated Burnley star Charlie Austin. Rangers have already bid £4.5million for Celtic’s Hooper and are waiting to hear back about the offer.
