Premier League Transfer News — 12 July 2013

Victor WanyamaSwansea have signed highly-rated Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony for a club-record £12million fee from Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.

The 24-year-old was in-demand, but has now signed a long-term contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Bony scored 31 league goals last season in the Eredivisie in just 30 appearances last season and won Dutch Player of the Year.

Another Premier League club Southampton, have broken their transfer record with the £12.5million signing of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama from SPL giants Celtic. The 22-year-old star has signed a four-year contract at St Marys.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are interested in signing Swansea centre-back Ashley Williams. The Welsh international was in outstanding form for the Swans last season, as they finished ninth in the Premier League and won the league cup.

The Gunners look set to strengthen their defence this summer with doubts over the fitness of Belgium international defender Thomas Vermaelen.

Sunderland have had a bid accepted for Juventus midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini. The Italian international had a minimum fee release clause in his contract and he is now expected to complete the move to the Black Cats.

The Black Cats also look like sealing the transfer of Argentinian full-back Gino Peruzzi. The Velez Sarsfield ace is expected in the north east over the weekend to complete his transfer. Peruzzi had been interesting many foreign clubs including Italian side Inter.

Crystal Palace are close to signing West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie. The 31-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Hawthorns, after a January move to QPR fell through. The Premier League newcomers have already brought in Dwight Gayle and Jerome Thomas to strengthen their squad this summer.

St Etienne’s highly-regarded keeper Stephane Ruffier has an offer on the table from an English club according to his agent. Serie A club Roma currently lead the race for the 26-year-old, but a move to England could be a possibility for the keeper.
