Napoli is being completely revolutioned after the arrival of Rafa Benitez. It’s rumored and denied that the new coach wanted a younger goalkeeper for his team and that De Sanctis was ready to reach Mazzarri in Inter Milan. Now, the departure of De Sanctis is more than a rumor, but a real possibility.
Napoli indeed has already started working to find his substitute: Rafael, Santos goalkeeper, should be officially announced on Monday. The young goalkeeper is considered a real talent in Brazil and his participation to the 2014 World Cup is a certainty. Napoli has concluded a great deal getting him, overpassing Roma, thanks to an offering of 5 million euros to the Brazilian club.
Roma has decided to show his interest for Morgan De Sanctis, that seeing his importance reduced due to the arrival of a younger goalkeeper, seems ready to accept the offering. Roma will offer him the possibility to play as regular next season, while in Napoli he does not have certainties.
At this point, Napoli has to find another player, with more experience to associate to Rafael. This one could be Julio Cesar, author of an excellent performance during the Confederations Cup and interested in going back to Italy. A Brazilian couple could be the defensive sector of Benitez’s Napoli.
