England Premier League — 11 January 2013

Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez go head to head on SundayAs usual there is a busy programme of fixtures in the Premier League this weekend.

Arguably the biggest games taken place on Sunday afternoon, as Manchester United host Liverpool and Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United face bitter-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford in the early kick-off on Sunday. The hosts have been in superb form in recent months, winning eight of their previous nine Premier League games.

Liverpool have started to move up the table after a run of decent results. This clash will be all about United’s Robin Van Persie vs. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, as two of the league’s top strikers go head-to-head in this clash.

The home side head into this fixture seven points clear of second place Manchester City and will be hoping to extend that lead with the champions playing later in the day.

City face a tough trip to Arsenal in the 4PM kick-off. Both teams are in desperate need of maximum points with the pair starting to lose ground on their rivals. City can’t afford to let Manchester United go any further clear at the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners meanwhile are in sixth place in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth place Chelsea. A win is vital for Arsene Wenger’s men, as they look to finish in the top four of the Premier League for a 16th consecutive season.

Fourth place Chelsea face a very tricky trip to Stoke, who are the only team in the top flight to still have an unbeaten home record. Chelsea however became the first team to win at Everton this season in their last away outing and will be hoping to repeat the trick at the Britannia Stadium.
