For the twelfth time during this season, Inter Milan has been defeated. This time, the author of this result is Cagliari, a clear 2-0, that reduces the hopes of Stramaccioni’s team to participate to an European competition next year. The match has been equilibrated till the end of the first half, with Cagliari that seemed meeting some difficulties in organizing its game. In fact, the most visible occasions were for Inter Milan: a post of Cambiasso and a failed goal of Alvarez.
The second half saw a different Cagliari, more motivated and with the desire to win against Inter Milan. Stramaccioni had to substitute Gargano, due to an injury, for Kuzmanovic. Also Cagliari’s coach decided to make a substitution: he removed Dessena for Pinilla. After a while, at 18′ of the second half, Silvestre committed a foult in detriment of Ibarbo; the referee assigned a penalty to Cagliari, realized by a perfect Pinilla. At this point, Stramaccioni tried to reorganize the team, Nagatomo substituted Cambiasso, but after just ten minutes, the Japanese player has been injuried and had to be substituted by Samuel. Stramaccioni tried to maintain an aggressive Inter Milan, but considered the injuries and the numerous absents, his job was really difficult.
At 30′ of the second haf arrived the decisive goal, scored by Pinilla. Cagliari 2-0 maintained an aggressive attitude, trying to score the third goal, that did not arrived, thanks to an excellent Handanovic.
The situation is always worse for Inter Milan: the number of not available players is increasing, together with the negative results. Differently, Cagliari occupies a mid position in the league table and it will for sure remain in Serie A.
