In recent weeks and months there was a lot of speculation that AC Milan defender, Alessandro Nesta, could be joining their rivals Juventus. Juventus ace, Andrea Pirlo, fueled speculation further as he invited Nesta to join him at Juventus as he did last summer. Juventus sports director, Giuseppe Marotta, denied a move for Nesta but speculation stayed rife. These rumors worried AC Milan fans as they don’t want to lose another of their favorites to a rival team.
Nesta has now crushed speculation as he stated that he will decide his future in summer but he will definitely not be joining the Turin based side. It seems that Nesta will either be extending his stay at AC Milan or else he will retire from the game.
Alessandro Nesta is considered to be one of the best defenders that Italy has ever produced. He started his professional career at Lazio where his spent nine years. In 2002 he decided to join AC Milan to win more trophies. He played more than 200 games for AC Milan. Alessandro Nesta was also a mainstay of the Italian national team until he decided to retire in 2006. He played 78 games for Italy. He decided to retire from international football at the young age of 30 cause of the constant injuries he was suffering.
