Tottenham have turned their attentions away from Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke after the Belgium striker signed a new deal with the Midlands club.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are about to make an £18million swoop for Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.
The Spanish international has been prolific in recent years for Los Ches and Valencia are in need of the cash to balance their books.
Another striker being linked with a move is Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse. The Senegalese international is believed to be attracting the interest of Russian club Zenit St Petersburg. Cisse has recently fallen out with the club over refusals to wear the clubs kit because of the sponsor.
He seems unlikely to change his mind anytime soon, which means that he is likely to leave the club this summer. There will be no shortage of takers for the striker.
Newcastle could replace the striker with a double swoop on French football with Andre-Pierre Gignac and Bafetimbi Gomis believed to be interesting Magpies boss Alan Pardew. Gignac currently plies his trade for Marseille, while Gomis is at Lyon.
Newcastle believes that they could sign the pair in a double deal worth £15million. Newcastle looks in desperate need of extra firepower after struggling to find goals last season.
Aston Villa striker Darren Bent looks like another Magpies target, but Fulham are believed to be the favourites to sign the England striker. The 29-year-old was frozen out at Villa Park and replaced by Christian Benteke.
According to the People, Manchester United boss David Moyes could be set to turn his attentions to Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye, if as expected United’s £30million bid for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas fails.
Cabaye has been impressive since moving to Tyneside and was a target of the Red Devils, prior to moving to the Magpies from Lille.
