Great news for West Ham fans as the hammers signed French International Alou Diarra from French side Olympique de Marseille. This move comes as a surprise as the nothing had been mentioned about West Ham’s interest for Diarra. The news went public on the official website of Olympique de Marseille stating that the deal has been agreed today. Diarra’s contract at Olympique de Marseille was set to expire in June 2014.
In the early days of his career Diarra was a squad player of two glorious clubs in Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Following disappointing stints at both clubs he built a reputation for himself within his native France. He played for various French sides with the most important ones being Lyon, Bordeaux and Olympique de Marseille. Diarra represented France at U20, U21 and senior level. He represented France at senior level 44 times but never found the back of the net.
