For now, Napoli has concluded two interesting agreements. The first one leads in Napoli Dries Mertens from PSV Eindhoven, and the second one will conduce in Napoli Maxime Gonalos from Lyon. These two players have experience on the international stage, aspect considered very important by Rafa Benitez. Now, there are two players still missing: a defender and a winger. For these, Napoli could decide to forget the international market, to look for occasions in Italy.
The first objective was Adel Rami, Valencia player considered marketable by his current team, due to the need of money. 12 million euros has been the evaluation of the player by his team, but Napoli offered just 6 million euros. The agreement has not been found and Rami will remain a Valencia player. Than, Napoli showed his interest for N’Kolou, talentuos defender, considered second only to Thiago Silva. His cost of 20 million euros has stopped the discussions between Napoli and Marseille. After these international and impossible negotiations, Napoli has fixed as his new objective Davide Astori, desired since two years and with a reduced cost compared to the others.
After the arrival of Mertens, Napoli needs another winger that will be lined up as alternative to Pandev and Insigne. Napoli indeed has to calculate that he will participate to three competitions and needs to change the squad according to the circumstances. Rafa Benitez has asked Callejon from Real Madrid, but due to his will and his cost, the negotiation results impossible. Napoli has decided to change objectives and to try to gain Antonio Candreva, player with quality that could be lined up also as Hamisk’s substitute. The negotiation is complex also in this case, because Lazio wants to maintain him next season, but Udinese, that has half player, seems intrested in finding an agreement with Napoli.
