According to the Spanish press, it seems that Chelsea are going to step up their interest for Athletic Bilbao midfielder, Javi Martinez. Chelsea have been interested in the Spanish midfielder for quite some time but it was thought that they would try to sign him next summer. Chelsea’s poor start to the season may have convinced Andre Villa Boas that the Spaniard is needed now. It has been reported that Chelsea are ready to present an offer of 25 million euros for the Spain international. The 23 year old midfielder has a contract with Athletic Bilbao that will expire in June 2016. Real Madrid are also interested in Martinez.
