Stoke City have pulled off something of a coup by signing young Spanish defender Marc Muniesa on a free transfer from Spanish giants Barcelona.

The youngster has signed a four-year contract at the Britannia Stadium, after his contract with the Catalan club expired.

Liverpool have officially completed the free transfer of Ivorian international centre-back Kolo Toure from Manchester City. The former-Arsenal defender has signed a two-year contract with the Reds following his City contract expiring.

West Ham have entered the race for £10million rated striker Wilfried Bony. The Vitesse Arnhem striker has already been heavily linked with a switch to Swansea and talks have taken place. It now appears the Irons are hopeful of signing the prolific frontman.

Sunderland have failed with a bid to bring USA international striker Jozy Altidore back to England. The 23-year-old striker had an unsuccessful spell in England with Hull in 2009. However, the young striker has just enjoyed his most prolific season in European football with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, scoring 23 goals in the Eredivisie.

Everton are expected to complete the double transfer of Arouna Kone and Antolin Alcaraz. The Toffees will pay Wigan around £5million for Arouna Kone, while Alcaraz will arrive on a free transfer after his contract with the Latics expired.

Swansea have completed the free transfer of Spanish midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo from Real Betis. The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the Liberty Stadium and becomes the seventh Spaniard on the Swans books.

Premier League newcomers Crystal Palace have secured the services of forward Stephen Dobbie from Brighton on a permanent deal, after the striker spent a spell on-loan at Selhurst Park last season.

The Eagles are also expected to complete the free transfer of former-Arsenal and West Brom winger Jerome Thomas in the next few days.
