It has been reported that Scottish goalkeeper Craig Gordon offered himself to Italian side Udinese. Udinese are in need of a quality goalkeeper as they sold their star keeper Samir Handanovic to Inter Milan and his natural replacement, Zeljiko Brkic, just got injured. Craig Gordon is currently a free agent as he did not renew his contract with Sunderland. It seems that Gordon wants to experience the Italian Serie A and to do so he is also ready to accept a one year contract with an annual salary that is significantly lower to what he was earning at Sunderland. It seems that Gordon already received important offers from Celtic and some Premier League clubs but he’s holding back for a Serie A move.
Craig Gordon is a highly rated keeper that didn’t enjoy a lot of luck in recent years with injuries. Although Gordon had a career slump in recent years he still managed 40 games for Scotland at international level. He is also highly rated by goalkeeping legend, Gianluigi Buffon.
