Premier League Transfer News — 05 July 2013

Nicolas AnelkaNicolas Anelka has ended his Chinese nightmare by joining Premier League West Brom on a one-year contract.

The French striker was contracted to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua for 12 months, but moved to Juventus in the January transfer window.

Former-West Brom keeper Scott Carson has also returned to England after a stint away after signing for Championship Wigan for an undisclosed fee from Turkish side Bursaspor. The England international had spent two years in Turkey.

Norwich City have strengthened their midfielder with the signing winger Nathan Redmond from Birmingham for an undisclosed fee. The England under-21 international has signed a four-year deal with Canaries.

Liverpool star striker Luis Suarez is being linked with a shock move to Premier League rivals Arsenal this summer, despite the fact that the Uruguayan has blamed the media for wanting to leave Liverpool. The transfer would be one of the most surprising in recent Premier League history that is for sure.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have allowed highly-rated young central midfielder Francis Coquelin to join German side Freiburg on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old has made 43 appearances for the Gunners in his career so far.

Premier League outfit Southampton could make a move for Valencia midfielder Ever Banega. The Argentinian had been linked with a move to Everton, when David Moyes was in charge, but the move failed when details over certain incidents involving the midfielder became known.

The link follows the Saints being linked with the likes of Brazil star Leandro Damiao and Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama, who is believed to have turned down a move to St Marys.

In the SPL, Celtic have signed French defender Steven Mouyokolo on a free transfer, after he left Wolves following the Midlands club relegation from the Championship.
