diego-costaNewcastle have agreed a fee with Lyon for French international striker Bafetimbi Gomis. The Magpies had previously had a bid of around £6.9million turned down by the Ligue One club, but it seems that the two have now reached a compromise.

It is thought that the deal could be concluded over the weekend, if personal terms can be agreed. Gomis has been the Magpies number transfer target throughout the summer.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have made a £20million bid for Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa. The Brazilian international found the net ten times in La Liga for Atleti last season and 20 in all competitions.

It now seems that Costa is Reds boss Brendan Rodgers latest transfer target. There is still speculation about the future of star forward Luis Suarez, which does not seem to be going away.

Tottenham and USA forward Clint Dempsey is being linked with a move back to his homeland. MLS franchise Seattle Sounders have shown an interest in the 30-year-old former-Fulham ace. Dempsey’s future seems set to lie away from north London.

Spurs’ London rivals Fulham are believed to have upped their bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent to £5million, after having a bid of around £4million rejected. Bent desperately wants to leave Villa after being frozen out under Villa boss Paul Lambert.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham are ready to turned their transfer attentions to Werder Bremen forward Marko Arnuatovic. The 24-year-old Austrian international is highly-rated, but has not yet fulfilled the promise of his earlier career.

According to the Sentinel, Stoke could raid the MLS once again their search for new recruits. Potters boss Mark Hughes is believed to be looking at New England striker Juan Agudelo. The 23-year-old Colombian born star is regarded as one of the hottest youngsters in the MLS.
