Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni has started the process of evolving his Inter squad.
When the rookie coach took over as boss of Inter the squad was aging and struggling to cope with the demands of life in Serie A.
Evolution
Since his permanent appointment Stramaccioni has set about bringing down the average age of the Inter squad and has let a number of high-profile figures leave the Giuseppe Meazza. The likes of Lucio, Diego Forlan and Goran Pandev have all left Inter this summer.
And it looks likely that keeper Julio Cesar and full-back Maicon may join the trio through the Inter exit door. Cesar is being linked with a move to Premier League QPR, while Maicon is being chased by Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Fresh
Inter looked very stale at times last season and the squad has needed a major overhaul for a long while now. Stramaccioni is like a breath of fresh air at Inter and hopefully he can rejuvenate the Nerazzurri. The young head coach has done what a lot of more experienced coaches were scared to do.
He has got rid of established figures at the club and brought in replacements that he believes can help the club move forward.
Arrivals
With a host of high-profile players gone, and some appearing to be on their way it was important for the young boss to make the right signings this summer. I think he has made some superb signings this summer. He has brought in the likes of Walter Gargano, Antonio Cassano and Samir Handanovic. All three will add something extra to the Inter team this season.
Time
Stramaccioni’s facelift of the squad may not be enough to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto this season. However, Stramaccioni has got Inter heading in the right direction and given time I’m sure that the young coach can bring success to the Nerazzurri and help turn the club around.
Will Andrea Stramaccioni be successful at Inter?
