Henrikh MkhitaryanHenrikh Mkhitaryan’s recent performances haven’t gone unnoticed as he’s attracting the interest of several major European clubs. Mkhitaryan is shining both at club level with Shakhtar Dontesk and at international level with Armenia. Mkhitaryan is a typical number 10, an attacking midfielder that possesses creativity, dribbling skills and a very good eye for goal. He kick started his career in Armenia at Pyunik Yerevan where he scored an impressive 30 goals in 70 matches.

In 2009 he moved to Ukraine to join Metalurh Donetsk for a fee of 308,000 sterling. He was a success, so much to become the youngest captain in the clubs history at the young age of only 21. His success resulted in interest from other clubs with Ukraine giants, Shakhtar Donetsk, signing him for a fee of $7.5 million in 2010. At Shakhtar Donetsk he’s also making a great impression with his performances and goal average as he’s almost averaging a goal every two games. This week he guided Shakhtar to winning against Nordsjaelland by scoring both goals. Mkhitaryan also plays an important role at international level with Armenia. Armenia isn’t a country that normally produces great football talent but Mkhitaryan is the exception. It will be interesting to see how Mkhitaryan performs in the coming weeks and months when he faces sides such as Juventus, Chelsea and Italy and international level.

Do you think that Mkhitaryan is ready to play for a European giant?
