Italy Serie A — 26 July 2012

According to British newspaper the Daily Mirror Serie A champions Juventus could make a move for Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko, should a move for Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie collapse.

The Bianconeri are looking at strengthening their attack ahead of the defence of their Serie A title next season.

Inconsistent

Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko has endured mixed fortunes at Manchester City since his arrived from Wolfsburg in 2011. At times he has struggled with life in the English top flight, but scored some vital goals for City last season as they clinched the Premier League title.

Goals

Prior to his move to City Dzeko was considered one of the most exciting goalscorers in Europe. His goals helped little Wolfsburg to their first ever Bundesliga title and he created an unstoppable partnership with Brazilian striker Grafite.

The goals he scored and the promise he showed in Germany were enough to convince City to part with £27.5million for his services, a big money fee to most other clubs, but not to the Citizens.

Targetman

The 26 year-old is your typical targetman. He is tall and strong, but his ability with the ball at his feet is often underestimated. He can score goals with both feet and he is also deadly with his head. The only attribute that Dzeko is missing is pace, but apart from that he has every attribute needed in a top-class striker.

Starter

Edin Dzeko has already been linked with a move to Serie A giants AC Milan. He rubbished reports that he was looking to leave Manchester City. However, Dzeko was not always a regular starter at the Etihad Stadium last season.

A move to Juve and a promise of first team football could just be enough to persuade the Bosnian that his future lies in Turin and not in Manchester. Watch this space!

Would Edin Dzeko be a good signing for Juventus?
