Premier League Transfer News — 16 July 2013

Cesc-Fabregas3According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have made a £25million bid for Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The former-Gunners star has struggled to cement a regular place in the Barcelona midfield.

This has led to speculation that the Spanish international could be on his way out of the Nou Camp.

Arsenal are also believed to be interested in re-signing their former-star. Barcelona seems unlikely to part with Fabregas, after the Spanish champions sold Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich.

Barcelona have parted company with Spanish international striker David Villa. The 31-year-old has joined Atletico Madrid for an initial £1.8million, potentially rising to £4.7million if Villa spends three years at the Vicente Calderon.

According to reports from Spain, Manchester City are on the verge of signing Sevilla and Spain striker Alvaro Negredo in a deal worth £21.7million. The Spanish international has been prolific for the side from Andalucia in the past couple of seasons.

Danish wonderkid Christian Eriksen has turned down a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. The Ajax attacking midfielder had also been linked with moves to Russian side St Petersburg and Premier League Liverpool.

The German club are also being linked with a bid for Eriksen’s Ajax teammate Toby Alderweireld, who recently turned down a move to the Premier League with Norwich.

Premier League newcomers Hull City are being linked with a double swoop for QPR attacker Adel Taarabt and Sunderland’s Danny Graham. The Tigers are looking to strengthen their attack ahead of their return to the top-flight.

Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella is attracting interest from the Premier League, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Norwich, Crystal Palace, and West Ham are all believed to be monitoring the Italian international forward.

West Ham are also being linked with a £3million move for West Brom’s out-of-favour midfielder Graham Dorrans, according to the Sun.
