Italy Serie A Spain — 25 June 2013

After the departure of Stekelenburg that has become a Fulham player, Roma is remained withVictor Valdesout the goalkeeper. The Italian market does not offer him many choices and for this reason Roma is looking for a goalkeeper abroad.

Julio Cesar is the first idea. The Brazilian goalkeeper is not new to Serie A and has played for Queens Park Rangers last season. After the relegation in the second division of his current team, Julio Cesar is looking for a new alternative. Arsenal is interested in the player and Roma is analyzing this option as well.

The other name is Victor Valdes, Barcelona goakeeper. Barcelona indeed is trying to replace him, with a younger player. Handanovic was the first choice, but the request of 30 million euros has interrupted the negotiation. Victor Valdes has explained in a recent press conference that he wants to respect his contract with Barcelona, but after that, in 2014, he wants to have a new experience. Roma could be an interesting alternative for him, that wants to experiment a new way of living. Valdes’ words have attracted the interests of Arsenal and Monaco, that are looking for an important goalkeeper to reinforce their defense. The problem for Roma is an economic question: compared to Arsenal and Monaco, Roma could offer less money to both Barcelona and the player.
