Copa del Rey Spain — 03 March 2013

Real Madrid won 1- 3 against Barcelona, and its now the “Copa del Rey” Finalist

An inspired Cristiano Ronaldo, with two goals, was the man of the match in the win against a decayed Barca.

With an awesome performance of Ronaldo, who scored two goals, Real Madrid in front of 95,002 spectators, undressed Barcelona and sign their ticket to the final of the Copa del Rey. A match where the Catalans made an erratic performance.

The Whites read perfectly the game and gave no options to Barça, an unresponsive and shy team, who went down at an organized opponent, something that has happened in the last heat of the Champions League in Milan. With an uninspired Messi , Barcelona never found answers between the white spider web.

The Real Madrid went for it and qualified for the final with a play solution that has brought him success in the Camp Nou lately. A classic repeated. A game already seen, not just this season against Milan or Sevilla, but other campaigns, in which Barceona hast the ball control, but is sluggish to an opponent who really knows how to counterstroke, a team that learned how to stop  Messi  and got ahead on the scoreboard.

Real Madrid played the game the way they wanted from the start, without surprises in Barça´s initial formation. Villa was in the bench, there wasn´t a power strike to complicate the defense. Jordi Roura trust their best eleventh. But the formula did not work.

The Fantastic Ronaldo

Real Madrid created lots of goal opportunities, especially every time Ronaldo touched the ball, the Portuguese starred all of his team shots in the first half.

A clearance from the edge of Khedira´s area became a dangerous pass in which Di Maria raced with Puyol, Barcelona´s captain slipped and the ball fell to the side of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 0-3 was the work of Varane, who headed in off a corner kick.

Barca came back to the game with Alba (m. 89), but it was too late. The Barça football awakes all doubts about his game and some reflection on how face big games, especially with the European tie against Milan in a few days.
