Luka ModricTottenham and Real Madrid announced that Luka Modric will move to the Spanish giants for an initial fee of 35.5 million euros and potentially another 6.5 million euros in bonuses. Modric is expected to fly to the Spanish capital to conduct the routine medical tests. Then he will sign a five year contract with Real Madrid. Real Madrid made it clear that they wanted to sign the Croatian international but the negotiations with Tottenham took longer than expected. Now Tottenham have five days to find a replacement for Modric with Willian of Shakhtar Donetsk topping the list. On the other hand Real Madrid may now offload Kaka with AC Milan being the most interested in the Brazilian midfielder.

Luka Modric started his professional career in his native Croatia at Dinamo Zagreb. In 2008 he moved to England to join Tottenham. At Tottenham he enjoyed some successful seasons as he guided the London based team to Champions League football. Modric is also a Croatia international. He represented his country at various junior levels and represented them at senior level 57 times. He also scored 8 goals for Croatia.
