ArounaKone_everton_08072013_bIvorian striker Arouna Kone has finally completed his protracted move to Everton from Wigan for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Goodison Park and he will be re-united with former-boss Roberto Martinez on Merseyside.

Aston Villa’s highly-rated Belgium international striker Christian Benteke has handed in a transfer request at Villa Park.

The striker scored 19 goals last season in his first campaign in English football. The 22-year-old is believed to be interesting the likes of Tottenham and Manchester City.

Former-Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou could be set for a return to the Premier League, after the Ivory Coast international claimed that West Brom are interested in securing his services for next season. Kalou was part of the Chelsea squad that won the Champions League in 2012.

Newcastle are interested in signing strikers Darren Bent from Aston Villa and Loic Remy from QPR according to Magpies boss Alan Pardew. The Magpies are looking to strengthen their attack, but have lost out to Everton in the race for Arouna Kone.

On the continent, Atletico Madrid have agreed a reported fee of £5million for Barcelona and Spain striker David Villa. The 31-year-old had been linked with a move to the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.

However, it seems that he is likely to be a direct replacement for Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who joined Monaco earlier this summer.

Champions League finalists Dortmund have completed the £23.7million signing of attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.  The 24-year-old was a reported target of Premier League Liverpool.

The Reds have lost out on the talented midfielder, who found the net 24 times last season from his midfielder position. The Armenian international is likely to be a replacement for Mario Gotze, who joined arch-rivals Bayern Munich earlier this summer.
