Friendlies — 22 March 2013

The friendly match in Geneve yesterday evening has been a show, created by the excellent performances of both Italy and Brazil and finished 2-2. A perfectly equilibrated match, during which Brazil dominated in the first half, and ItalyMario Balotelli in Italy-Brazil in the second.

Fred and Oscar are the authors of the first two goals scored by Brazil, Italy, in the first half, played in a good way, but not enough to gain the result.

The turning point is the rebirth of Mario Balotelli, from the beginning of the second half. De Rossi at 54’scored the first goal, but decisive is the magnificent goal of Balotelli, a goal with a shot from outside arrived at 57′ minute of the second half.

Excellent the performance of Julio Cesar, the Brazilian goalkeeper saved in several occasions the attempts of Balotelli and El Shaarawy. Considerable performance also for Montolivo, that played to substitute Marchisio, absent due to illness. The young Cerci and De Sciglio, during their first match for the Italy National team, played with motivation and the right morale. For Brazil, great performances of Hulk and Neymar, author of an extraordinary assist that permitted the second goal for Brazil.

Italy showed a better preparation then Brazil in view of the Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup. Maybe Prandelli’s team will be able to repeat the same performances of Spain 1982.
