Yesterday night the coach of the Italy National team, Cesare Prandelli, has decided the names of the players that will play the Confederations Cup in Brazil. It will be played between 15th June and 30th June 2013. Italy is admitted to this competition because it arrived in the final of th European Cup, being defeated by Spain, already qualified to th Confederations Cup due to its victory of the 2010 World Cup. Italy will play against Mexico, Brazil and Japan, while the other round will see Spain, Uruguay, Thaiti and Nigeria.

The Confederations Cup could represent for Italy, but also for the other teams, a general test before the important appointments of the World Cup. 23 the players that Mr Prandelli decided to bring in Brazil. Antonelli won’t participate due to the injury occurred against San Marino. Chellini will play as left back to substitute him. The other defenders are Abate, Astori, Barzagli, called despite the physical problems, Bonucci, De Sciglio and Maggio. The coach has decided to renounce to Ogbonna and Ranocchia. As goalkeepers the Italy national team will have Buffon, Marchetti and Sirigu, while Agazzi has not been called. In the midfield Aquilani has been preferred to Poli, other players will be Candreva, De Rossi, Diamanti, Giaccherini, Marchisio, Montolivo and Pirlo. In the attack the magic couple Balotelli-El Shaarawy will be supported by Cerci, Gilardino and Giovinco.

Before the Confederations Cup Italy will play the important match against Czech Republic for the qualifications to th World Cup in Brazil.
