A match finished with polemics and fights, that saw the defeat of Inter Milan in San Siro, after the advantage reached 3-1 and only a part of the second half still to play. The match has been characterized by errors, committed not only by the referee, but also by the players, that were too much nervous. It could have been the turning point for Stramaccioni’s team, a victory that could have helped them to remain in the Europe zone, but Denis destroyed the dream of Inter Milan.

The first goal arrived at 43′ of the first half, when Tommaso Rocchi scored his goal number 100 in Serie A, thanks toGerman Denis Pereira’s assist. At the beginning of the second half, Bonaventura gained the draw, giving new motivation to Atalanta. However, Inter Milan continued remaining in advantage thanks to a double scored by Alvarez at the beginning of the second half, due to some mistakes of Atalanta’s players. The match could have finished in this way, but Denis overturned the situation. The referee, Gervasoni, assigned a penalty to Atalanta, due to a not clear foult committed by Ranocchia or Samuel and Denis realized the penalty. Galvanized by this possibility, Denis scored other two goals, gaining an advantage that Inter Milan has not been able to regain.

In addition to the defeat, Inter Milan, during this match, has lost Antonio Cassano, due to an injury, remaining with Tommaso Rocchi as unique striker, till the return of Rodrigo Palacio, probably absent for still 15 days.
