International — 24 June 2013

Yesterday evening also group B played the last matches of this first round of Confederations Cup. The results permit UrTahitiuguay and Spain to continue their experience in Brazil, while Nigeria and Tahiti have been eliminated.

URUGUAY vs TAHITI

Uruguay won 8-0 against Tahiti. Interesting the choice of Uruguay coach to line up Abel Hernandez and to leave Cavani, Forlan and Suarez on the bench for the first half. Authors of the goals: 4 Abel Hernandez, 1 Diego Perez, 1 Lodeiro and 2 Suarez. Tahiti, as in the previous matches, played at his best, without getting a result against stronger teams. Now Uruguay will play the semifinal against Brazil, while Tahiti returns home after one of his first international experiences.

NIGERIA vs SPAIN

Nigeria did not succeed in qualifying to the semifinal, due to this defeat by Spain. The first half have been equilibrated, despite the advantage gained by Spain after 3′ minutes. Author of this magnificent goal has been Jordi Alba, the best Spanish player of the match. Nigeria showed all his limits and his inexperience, even if he managed in creating difficulties to Spain in the second half. The final result has been 0-3, thanks to a double by Jordi Alba and Torres. Now Spain will play his semifinal against Italy, that will be without Balotelli and some regular players due to injuries.
